Early this morning a J. Cole album popped up on iTunes for pre-order titled 4 Your Eyez Only. The official release date is set for Friday, December 9th. This album will drop exactly 2 years after his most successful album to date 2014 Forest Hills Drive, which went platinum with no singles or features.

Two months ago during a performance at the Meadows Music & Arts Festival in Queens, New York, Cole announced that would be his last show for a while. Many people speculated why; among rumors that his wife might be pregnant with their first child. Regardless he’s leaving fans with a new album until he decides to return to the stage again.

Dad of the year goes to this guy! The internet is going crazy after a woman on a flight tweeted a photo of a man who went to the extreme just so his daughter could trick-or-treat. The father, who wishes to remain anonymous, went up and down the aisles to make sure each passenger had candy to distribute to his daughter while she walked around in her donut costume.

The flight was traveling from Boston to San Francisco. Talk about going the extra mile.

Malia Obama Skips The DNC For A Concert

President Obama Hosts Canadian PM Trudeau On His Official Visit To Washington

Last night, the DNC concluded here in Philly and of all the people in attendance, Malia Obama was not one of them. A few Snapchat videos and twitter post captured the 18-year-old and shortly made her a trending topic on twitter.

I’m pretty sure Malia Obama was present at the last two Democratic National Conventions that mattered the most. She is 18 years old and has every right to opt out of #DemsinPhilly and turn up with her friends for Lollapalooza if she chooses to. So would I.

Now that he is retired, Kobe Bryant has taken the time to enjoy his family, friends and reflect on his career. In a heartfelt letter to his 17-year old self, Kobe Bryant gives himself advice on how to take care of his family and career.

In a heartfelt letter to his 17-year old self, Kobe Bryant gives himself advice on how to take care of his family and career.

The letter focuses on the importance of nurturing personal relationships properly and making sure to budget money accordingly. You can read the entire letter penned by Kobe in the The Player’s Tribune below!

Dear 17-year-old self,

When your Laker dream comes true tomorrow, you need to figure out a way to invest in the future of your family and friends. This sounds simple, and you may think it’s a no-brainer, but take some time to think on it further.

I said INVEST.

I did not say GIVE.

Let me explain.

Purely giving material things to your siblings and friends may appear to be the right decision. You love them, and they were always there for you growing up, so it’s only right that they should share in your success and all that comes with it. So you buy them a car, a big house, pay all of their bills. You want them to live a beautiful, comfortable life, right?

But the day will come when you realize that as much as you believed you were doing the right thing, you were actually holding them back.

You will come to understand that you were taking care of them because it made YOU feel good, it made YOU happy to see them smiling and without a care in the world — and that was extremely selfish of you. While you were feeling satisfied with yourself, you were slowly eating away at their own dreams and ambitions. You were adding material things to their lives, but subtracting the most precious gifts of all: independence and growth.

Understand that you are about to be the leader of the family, and this involves making tough choices, even if your siblings and friends do not understand them at the time.

Invest in their future, don’t just give.

Use your success, wealth and influence to put them in the best position to realize their own dreams and find their true purpose. Put them through school, set them up with job interviews and help them become leaders in their own right. Hold them to the same level of hard work and dedication that it took for you to get to where you are now, and where you will eventually go.

I’m writing you now so that you can begin this process immediately, and so that you don’t have to deal with the hurt and struggle of weaning them off of the addiction that you facilitated. That addiction only leads to anger, resentment and jealousy from everybody involved, including yourself.

As time goes on, you will see them grow independently and have their own ambitions and their own lives, and your relationship with all of them will be much better as a result.

There’s plenty more I could write to you, but at 17, I know you don’t have the attention span to sit through 2,000 words.

The next time I write to you, I may touch on the challenges of mixing blood with business. The most important advice I can give to you is to make sure your parents remain PARENTS and not managers.

Before you sign that first contract, figure out the right budget for your parents — one that will allow them to live beautifully while also growing your business and setting people up for long-term success. That way, your children’s kids and their kids will be able to invest in their own futures when the time comes.

Your life is about to change, and things are about to come at you very fast. But just let this sink in a bit when you lay down at night after another nine-hour training day.

Trust me, setting things up right from the beginning will avoid a ton of tears and heartache, some of which remains to this day.

Much love,

Kobe

The holiday to kick off summer season and recognize all the fallen soldiers who’ve served our country is here again. With an extra day out of the office and plenty of cookouts to attend, here are a few tips to help you prepare for the three-day holiday weekend.

Stay hydrated. With the weather being well over 80 degrees this weekend, the best thing to do is stay hydrated, especially if you plan on consuming a lot of alcohol. Check on the elderly to make sure they are keeping cool.

Wear sunblock. Don’t forget to bathe yourself in sunblock if you’ll be soaking up the sun at the beach, cooking on the grill or just relaxing outside with friends.

Refrigerate perishables. Be sure to keep all your perishables and salads that have mayonnaise in a refrigerator or a cooler to avoid food poisoning.

Drive responsibly. Traffic is going to be crazy this weekend with people making their way to the shore and visiting relatives in other cities. Buckle up and stay off your phone while driving. No snapping at red lights either.

Drink responsibly. There’s nothing better than kicking it with friends, enjoying some grilled food and sipping on you favorite iced alcohol beverage. If you’ve had too many drinks while you’re out, don’t hesitate to ride with a friend or call an Uber or Lyft!

Most importantly, had fun and take some time to remember all the men and women who have fallen in military service.
