Monie Love took to her social media to pay tribute to her fellow talent, saying Weiland is now “forever carved into the tree of a changing time in rock music that ushered in a more risk taking generation.”

Rock singer Scott Weiland, known for his success as frontman of groups like Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver, died in his sleep Thursday [December 3] night. He was 48.

Immediately following an album signing event on Saturday, Public Enemy were scheduled to perform a gig in Sheffield, England alongside The Prodigy. The hip-hop outfit’s agenda was going as planned, until the taxi tasked with taking Chuck D and Flavor Flav to the concert drove off without them.

Tupac Biopic Gets New Director ….

Tupac’s biopic is getting a new director.  The production company Morgan Creek is behind the Tupac Shakur movie, and recently announced they’re hiring Benny Boom to take on the role as new director.  He’ll be replacing John Singleton, who dropped out of the position back in April.  Morgan Creek is currently rushing to get the rapper’s biopic done, given that the music rights to Tupac’s songs will revert back to Shakur’s mother at the end of the year if the film isn’t in production by then.  Boom is known for several projects on the big screen, including Summit’s 2009 action comedy “Next Day Air” and “S.W.A.T.: Firefight.”

P. Diddy Hosts Massive Birthday Bash….

P. Diddy’s 46th birthday might’ve been November 4th, but he’s still celebrating big.  The rapper decided to throw himself a massive party Saturday night at Burkle’s Beverly Hill estate in the Green Acres neighborhood.  The event was sponsored by Ciroc Vodka, and featured a guest list with names like the Kardashians, Jay Z and Beyonce, Leonardo DiCaprio and Kevin Connely.  Justin Bieber and Rihanna were reportedly also on the guest list, but were no-shows.  Pharrell Williams, Joe Jonas, Tyga, Ludacris and Wiz Khalifa also joined the business mogul in the celebration.
