This time the Dreams and Nightmare rapper is making sure inmates and staff are staying safe amid this coronavirus outbreak.

Recently, Meek Mill teamed up with Jay-z to donate over 100,000 surgical masks to several correctional facilities across the United States.

The donation was made through the pair’s criminal justice organization, REFORM Alliance, where Meek and Hov unveiled their new policy, focusing on the prevention of the virus spreading behind bars.

So far, masks are set to be distributed to the Tennessee Department of Corrections, Mississippi State Penitentiary, and New York’s Riker’s Island Correctional.

As of Thursday, 231 inmates and 223 staff members at New York City jails have tested positive for COVID-19, which has become one of the country’s largest outbreaks behind bars.

Meek Mill and Jay-z formed the REFORM alliance just last year alongside 76ers co-owner, Michael Rubin and New England Patriots owner, Robert Kraft.

Jay-Z Allegedly Disappointed in Colin Kaepernick’s Handling of NFL Workout

Former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick may have blown his last chance of being in the NFL after failing to show up to a private workout opportunity held over the weekend.

The workout, which was supposed to have 32 clubs in attendance to scout Kaepernick was said to be put together by Roc Nation founder Jay-Z, who recently entered a partnership with the NFL earlier this year.

However, it looks like Jay-Z may not be too happy with Kaepernick after he failed to adhere to the NFL’s guidelines regarding Saturday’s workout.

The former NFL quarterback made headlines when he switched locations of the workout last minute.

Media personality Nessa Diab and long-term girlfriend of Kaepernick announced details of the new location via Instagram stating,

Sources close to Jay-Z say he is disappointed in Kaepernick’s decision to turn a “legitimate workout” into a publicity stunt.

However, the 32-year-old free agent said the venue was changed to allow the media to be attendance in efforts to create transparency.

“The NFL has demanded that as a precondition to the workout, Mr. Kaepernick sign an unusual liability waiver that addresses employment-related issues and rejected the standard liability waiver from physical injury proposed by Mr. Kaepernick’s representatives,” Kaepernick’s team said in a statement.

Kaepernick moved his workout to a high school about 44 miles from the Falcons’ training grounds.

The NFL released a statement shortly after deeming him a no show stating, “We are disappointed that Colin did not appear for his workout. Today’s session was designed to give Colin what he has consistently said he wants, an opportunity to show his football readiness and desire to return to the NFL.”

Rap Mogul Jay-Z has been a huge supporter of Kaepernick’s movement in the past and recently received a lot of criticism for working closely with the NFL without attempting to reconcile the differences between Kaepernick and the NFL.

It looks like the former player may have lost yet another useful Ally in his quest for social justice in the NFL.

Jay-Z Sends Meek Mill A Rolex As VIP Pass: “This Rich Sh*t Getting Out Of Control”

JAY-Z aka “the world’s first hip-hop billionaire” doesn’t do anything average and that goes for the personal VIP invites he sent to Meek Mill and Swizz Beatz for his upcoming Shawn Carter Foundation Gala.

Both Meek and Swizz took to Instagram to show off their invitations, “Hov is on another level with the invite game,” he wrote on his Insta-stories, “it came with a Daytona Rolex and a bottle of Ace.”

The Rolex worth $40,000, is just a drop in the bucket that Jay hopes to bring in on November 15th and 16th at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. The black-tie gala will feature a Blackjack tournament.

All proceeds for the evening will go to provide college scholarships and study abroad programs.

Realizing that they needed to do more to support the causes near and dear to the hearts of its players, the NFL started Inspire Change, putting up to $89 million over six years behind the initiative.

To help “strengthen community through music,” the league has partnered with Jay-Z and his entertainment company on events and social activism, which includes the Super Bowl.

“The NFL and Roc Nation share a vision of inspiring meaningful social change across our country. We are thrilled to partner with Roc Nation and look forward to making a difference in our communities together,” said commissioner Roger Goodell.

Could this mean Jay-Z might one day play the halftime show and/or Beyoncé make a return to the stage? “He was very quick to say that he does not want this to be about him performing, that it was broader than that,” admits Goodell.

The 32-year-old rapper, who was just released from probation after 14 years, recently announced his partnership with Roc Ration in creating Dream Chasers Records.

While it’s safe to say that Mill is having a winning week, this isn’t the first time the rapper has embodied the true meaning of #Goals. Here are three times Meek Mill inspired us all:

1. Launching Dream Chasers Records

Meek Mill will not only be signing deals, but he’ll also be handing them out. As previously mentioned, the Championships rapper will be partnering up with Roc Nation mogul, Jay-Z to launch his new record label, Dream Chasers Records. Mill plans to use his new position of power to give back to the next wave of artists.

2. Becoming the Co-owner of Lids

It is indeed true that the rapper wears many hats! From rapper to social justice advocate, Mill is a true entrepreneur at heart. That’s why it came to no surprise when he announced that he would become the co-owner of Lids, an American retail chain that specializes in athletic hats. When asked about his new venture, The rapper said, “I’ve been shopping at Lids my whole life, wearing hats, fitted, of course. It was something I ain’t have to think twice about and always believed in.”

3. His Devotion to Prison reform

The rapper is changing the game in all areas, even when it comes to prison reform. Earlier this year, Mill partnered up with Jay-Z to form the REFORM Alliance, an organization geared to decrease the number of people serving unjust parole and probation sentences. Mill received a 2- to 4-year prison sentence in 2017 after violating probation for riding a motorcycle. The rapper now aims to make sure others don’t receive similar harsh sentences.

With all of his recent success, we can’t wait to see what other endeavors Mills will unleash in the future!

If you get to Syndey, Australia any time soon, you might want to take time to stop by The Carter.

The Carter is a night club inspired by Jay-Z and Beyonce…the Carters.

Murals of the couple are on the walls. There is Louis Vuitton-monogrammed carpet. The basement was just redesigned to look like Beyonce’s Hold Up video.

There are three levels to the club. Throughout, you’ll be able to get Hip-Hop-themed cocktails and American diner food with a Korean twist. By the way, as far as we know, The Carter has not been sanctioned by The Carters.

Jay-Z performed “B-Sides” at the newly renovated Webster Hall in New York Friday night. The hall had been closed for a year and a half for renovations.

Jay-Z thanked the crowd, thank you all for being here, this means a lot to me. I know the Avengers is playing in a theater down the block and all but the Avengers aren’t even real.

The venue holds 1,400 making it an extremely intimate performance and probably Jay-Z’s most intimate in years when you consider how many stadiums he has performed in.

Jay-Z paid tribute to Nipsey Hussle during his performance. Gentrify your own hood before these people do it/claim eminent domain and have your people move in/that’s a small glimpse into what Nipsey was doing/for anybody still confused as to what he was doing.

Another win for Jay-Z and his company Roc Nation, the music mogul and the social justice department of Roc Nation, Team ROC, helped Jabari Talbot get his case dropped after he was arrested for not standing for the pledge of allegiance in class.

Talbot told his teacher, Ana Alvarez, that “the flag was racist and the national anthem was offensive to Black people.” She then asked why he was still living in America, Talbot told her, “They brought me here.” Alvarez had campus police arrest Talbot based on him being “disruptive.”

The arrest affidavit stated that Talbot threatened to physically harm Ms. Alvarez and he told the principal and the officer that he would get them fired.

Luckily, Jay-Z stepped in putting Alex Spiro on the case, who got the case dropped immediately. “Jabari is a courageous and intelligent young man who deserves all the credit for standing up for his beliefs,” Spiro said in a statement. “He should’ve never been arrested or entangled in this situation—his freedom of speech rights were clearly protected under the 1st Amendment.” Spiro and Jay-Z also teamed up to help Meek Mill and 21 Savage with their recent legal battles.

If you aren’t aware legendary rap group De La Soul is in an ongoing battle with Tommy Boy Records and they just got a small victory over the label Tuesday.

De La Soul announced on IG that their albums would be available for streaming, but that 90 percent of the revenue was going to the label and they would only get 10 percent.

So they wanted fans to stream the albums that weren’t released on Tommy Boy, but Jay-Z did one better and didn’t stream their albums on his TIDAL platform.

De La went back to Twitter and posted, “Dear Fans, just got off the phone with TIDAL, and TIDAL has decided not to stream our catalog until this matter is resolved. Thank you TIDAL…Thank you, Jay.”
