CeeLo Green

CeeLo Green has been lying low over the last couple of years, but clearly, all it takes is one viral video to jolt you back to popularity.

Social media erupted over the weekend when video footage of the singer collapsing onto the floor after a cell phone appeared to explode in his hand went viral.

CeeLo is finally speaking out after so many people starting sending up prayers for him, thinking he was really injured and that the video was real. He took to Facebook on Sunday to explain that the footage was fake and shot for a new project he’s doing called Gnarly Davidson, saying, “I just want to let everybody know that I am alive and I’m well and I’m OK. Truthfully, I’m really upset that anybody had to be emotionally disturbed by what they saw today.”

Green continued on, “It’s supposed to set up and introduce the new character identity. Forgive me, y’all…I just want to let you know that I’m OK. OK? And I just want to thank everybody for their love and support and concern.”

Fortunately, the singer is doing well and even revealed that despite the uproar the video caused, he’s “still gonna release the music though.” Will you be listening?

Here’s How The DJ Who Started The “U Name It” Challenge Feels About Shirley Caesar’s Lawsuit

Shirley Caesar Honored With Star On The Hollywood Walk Of Fame

Source: Paul Archuleta / Getty

Shirley Caesar has no time for the foolery and seeks to end it at all cost.

The famous gospel singer reportedly filed a lawsuit against the DJ/creator of the viral #UNameIt challenge last week for $5 million, and now he’s speaking out. According to reports, DJ Suede said he and Pastor Caesar had a deal in place for #UNameIt almost from the beginning, and were always cool and cordial with one another. He believes someone is in her ear, urging her to sue. He claims from the beginning, his lawyers were negotiating with the “Hold My Mule” singer’s team to make sure they both fared well in the situation.

The 26-year-old Atlanta DJ told BOSSIP, “I respect Pastor Shirley’s position and there’s no beef at all with everybody. I really feel like it’s her legal team. I want this to be a good thing for the both of us.” Suede, Empire Records and a few others are included in the suit filed by the legendary songstress, who claims the DJ illegally released the song on iTunes, and his video for the song, which features a short clip of alcohol and twerking, negatively impacted her image and legacy.

However, Suede is not here for her claims, saying, “We weren’t focusing the video around any negativity. It wasn’t about twerking, liquor. It was just fun. Everybody had fun. I don’t think we tarnished or brought anything bad to her name.” As for his feelings about the lawsuit after the video’s wild success (Chris Brown released a video dancing to it, Ciara tweeted about it and it blew up), Suede says, “It’s kind of biting the hand that feeds you, but I don’t look for any handouts. I was happy to get her to another level in her life. I look forward to meeting her, giving her a hug and thanking her for what she’s done”

Only time will tell how petty the pastor really is.

Nicki Minaj Slammed For Recording A Woman With Mental Illness

Nicki Minaj‘s sense of humor is a little different than most people’s.

The rap queen posts quirky, funny things to her social media to prove that she doesn’t take herself or life too serious — but her last upload crossed the line for many fans. Nicki posted a video of herself laughing at a woman on the streets of Miami, who appears to have a mental illness.

In the clip, the woman can be heard telling Nicki she “didn’t need her help” and asking her to “go away” as Nicki calls after her, laughing. Fans commented under the photo, letting it be known that her video was not cool. Some commenters claim that it’s well-known in South Beach that the woman in the video is mentally ill. One fan wrote, “She had enough money to get that women (sic) help…but she chose instead to humiliate them online.” Another commented, “You remember when you started out of nowhere you now tease people.”

But her fans weren’t the only ones outraged by the clip, the National Alliance on Mental Illness also spoke out, saying the clip is an invasion of the woman’s privacy, which dehumanizes her. The Alliance says they’re upset that Nicki used her fame to influence young people in a negative manner. The associations rep stated, “Nobody would make fun of a cancer patient, and mental illness is an illness like any other.”

Do you think Nicki Minaj was out of line for the incident? Check out the clip above.

Watch: Cuba Gooding Jr. Goes On Drunken Rant During Awards Show

68th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards - Arrivals

Cuba Gooding Jr. must’ve had one too many drinks before Tuesday’s Footwear News Achievement Awards in New York.

The award-winner took to the stage to present the Social Impact Award to designer pal John Varvatos, and wound up going on a drunken rant in front of the entire audience. The American Crime Story actor started his tirade, saying, “Nothing says I love you like f−−king sugar. F−−king boxed lunched. I’m drunk now, motherf−−kers. Deal with it.” As the crowd burst into laughter, he continued, “I thought the BET Awards were cheap. In the words of Spike Lee, excuse my language but, they can f−−k you too, Spike.”

An insider revealed to Page Six that Gooding hit the bar just before mingling with one of the event’s A-list guests, Rihanna. The source told reporters, “He was hitting up the bar as soon as he did the red carpet and, with some liquid courage under his belt, made a beeline for Rihanna. He played OJ [Simpson] on TV, but he really was juiced.”

This isn’t the first time Cuba made headlines for his belligerent behavior. A few years back, New Orleans police issued a warrant for his arrest after he was accused of shoving a female bartender.

Black Twitter Clapped Back At Amy Schumer’s Parody Of Beyonce’s “Formation”

Amy Schumer Visits 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon'

Amy Schumer has found yet another way to get under Black Twitter’s skin.

The comedian decided to parody Beyoncé‘s “Formation” video with the help of Hollywood vet Goldie Hawn while on the set of their upcoming film, Mother/Daughter, and it rubbed the internet the wrong way. In a video posted exclusively to TIDAL on Friday, the two actresses were in full on cast-away mode, while imitating their best Queen Bey dance moves.

But social media wasn’t here for a Black woman empowerment song being parodied by two White women. Some even used the hashtag #AmySchumerGottaGoParty:

The two were joined by costars Wanda Sykes and Joan Cusack for the impromptu parody. Check out the video above.

Watch Desiigner Freestyle Like A New York Rapper

This is a different side of Desiigner.

The Brooklyn newcomer launched into the limelight when his street hit “Panda” went viral, ultimately earning him the number one spot on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart.

While he’s often compared and criticized for sounding similar to Atlanta rapper Future, a video of him freestyling “pre-Panda” shows that Desiigner hasn’t always rapped with an inaudible southern drawl. This one-minute freestyle video features Desiigner aggressively rapping, which is similar to New York’s signature hip-hop style.

The Most Woke: Jesse Williams’ Thoughts On Voting Will Make You A Believer

The Weinstein Company And Netflix Golden Globes After Party - Arrivals

Jesse Williams has a message for all the voting skeptics out there.

The Grey’s Anatomy heartthrob has let his inner activist fly as of late, most recently touching on the importance of voting in a Save The Day super PAC public service announcement. In a full-on political discourse that reminds Americans what having the ability to vote means for democracy, Williams does not mince words and makes a great point about the government being designed for continual change.

“You say ‘Vote’ – and someone says ‘Democracy is a sham. Those people don’t speak for me, the system is rigged. You say ‘Vote’ – someone says, ‘Well it doesn’t make a difference. This state is red, that state’s blue. This thing’s already on lock. You say ‘Vote’ – someone says ‘Hey, I’m making a statement by not voting’ and then you say, ‘Well I can’t hear it.’ This is not about the White House. This is about your house. If you’re not registered to vote, you can’t sit on a jury. You can’t choose your Mayor, you can’t choose your City Council. You can’t even choose your District Attorney. You can’t decide which measures will help your family and community, and which will put them at risk. This government was designed to be changed. You can either make that change – or, you can take what little they give you. Democracy is not a sham. It’s a job. It’s our job. And it took too goddamn long to get it, to just let it slide. You say ‘Vote’ because there are people who still don’t want you to,” Williams declares in the quick clip.

It’s safe to say no one is better at an effective call-to-action. Register to vote here – then actually vote.

The Game Drops Visual For Meek Mill Diss Record “Pest Control” (NEW VIDEO)

[ione_embed src=https://www.youtube.com/embed/HA-7WDLJKQY service=youtube width=650 height=360 type=iframe]

We thought it might be over when Russell Simmons stepped in, but The Game and Meek Mill are still at each other’s throats. The 1992 West Coast rapper released a visual to go along with his “Pest Control” diss record yesterday – and it’s not lacking in comedic relief.

The video starts out with an exterminator doing his best to take out “a rat” in a little boy’s room. Game is clearly referencing Meek, who he’s been calling “Meeky Mouse” following accusations that the Philly rapper spoke to police regarding the Sean Kingston robbery. Game then shows footage of the crowd at one of his shows screaming “Fuck Meek Mill!” before hitting the projects with his boys.

Things get pretty interesting as Game includes footage of Meek and his close friends throughout the video, and goes on to call Meek Mill a “Nicki Minaj sideshow.” Watch above.
