Black Star Film Festival kicks off August 2nd!

Starting August 2, the inaugural BlackStar Film Festival will shine the national spotlight on Philadelphia by showcasing 40 films from 4 continents over the course of 4 days. BlackStar’s cinematic lineup is full of artistically brilliant, aesthetically beautiful and genre-defying films, including several premiere films, including Sonia Godding Togobo’s Adopted IDOliver Hardt’s The United States Of Hoodoo, Byron Hurt’s Soul Food Junkies and Being Bilal, the first episode of a series dedicated Philly’s favorite soul-man – Bilal Oliver.
