Lisa Marie Presley, daughter of Elvis Presley and former wife of the late Michael Jackson has filed for divorce from her husband, musician Michael Lockwood.
TMZ reported that the 48-year-old is planning on fighting for full custody of her twin daughters. She wants to give her soon-to-be ex visitation, but only if it is monitored.
She reportedly cited irreconcilable differences for the divorce. One source clarified, “She doesn’t want any of his money.” She will not even be asking for any kind of spousal or child support.
The couple married in 2006. Presley filed for divorce on June 13th.
This will be Presley’s fourth failed marriage, her most notable ex-husbands are the King of Pop, and actor, Nicolas Cage. In 2007, she spoke with Marie Claire about her romantic past saying, “I had been really sheltered. I got married the first time very, very young. And the marriage I was in, there was so much resentment about who I was, because I had more than he did, and it became a power struggle. It is hard for a man to be with a woman who is stronger, wealthier. So in my mind I’m thinking, I know, I’ll get with someone more compatible,” she said of leaving Keough for Jackson, which she called the “biggest mistake of [her] life” in the interview. “I wasn’t thinking what everyone else was thinking, which was that I must have been out of my f***ing mind.”
By 2007, when she and Lockwood had already wed, she said she was happy to finally marry her “best friend.”
