President Trump recently made an offer to NFL football players who are committed to protesting injustice. Instead of protesting, he said, we should give him names of people we believe were “unfairly treated by the justice system.” If he agrees, he said, he will pardon them.

Does Troy Aikman Look Like Jay Z? Twitter Investigates…

They say every person has a doppelgänger walking around here somewhere, and the internet may have found Jay Z‘s.

As the Atlanta Falcons dominated the Green Bay Packers during Sunday night’s NFC Championship game, FOX Sports analyst Troy Aikman appeared onscreen to offer some in-depth commentary. That’s when social media users pointed out something no one ever noticed before: he looks exactly like Jay Z.

Although the former football QB is a White man, the features don’t lie. And Twitter enjoyed every single bit of it:

Why did it take so long for people to recognize the resemblance between the veteran analyst and the hip-hop vet? We’re not sure, but 2017 is actually the year of realizing things (cc: Kylie Jenner).

NFL Player’s Home Broken Into And Vandalized With Swastikas And Racist Epithets

Burglars broke into the New Jersey home of New York Giants player Nikita Whitlock on Tuesday and then covered it with white supremacist graffiti and racist epitaphs.

According to CBS-New York, the criminals spray painted phrases including “Go back to Africa,” “KKK”  and “Trump” and a swastika on the walls of the apartment he shares with his wife and two young children. Whitlock told the news station that he had covered up the swastika so that his 6-year-old son wouldn’t see it.

It’s about to be 2017. Oppression, racism, hatred, violence, there’s no need for that,” he stressed.

https://www.instagram.com/p/BNumvlZBmW8/

Racism is real and instead of close to home this time they came inside,Whitlock wrote in an Instagram post. “My family is safe but we are saddened by the hate. Thanks to the Moonachie Police Department for all of your help!”

In addition to the vandalism, the Whitlocks said that they were robbed of some electronics and jewelry. Police are investigating the break-in as a hate crime and are asking neighbors for any security camera video, the Associated Press noted.

In an interview with The Record, the 25-year-old fullback talked in-depth about the burglars’ cowardice.

They broke in, they vandalized, they shared their opinion — they could have shared it on Facebook, but they decided to share it in this fashion,” he said on Thursday.

I think the one thing that does disturb me more is the fact that people are using (President-elect Donald) Trump’s name. To me, it’s like, OK, you believe Trump believes certain things. But he wasn’t here. This was a personal decision, not a Trump decision. So next time, write your name on the wall.

He also said his home was almost broken into three weeks ago and it feels “like somebody was definitely trying to get” his family.

“I’m one of the last people you think this would happen to,” he said. “I’m in a nice area, I make good money, I keep to myself and I’m not flashy. Instead of coming close to home, they came inside. I have a lot of peers and a lot of family and people in my circle who don’t believe these kinds of things can happen to them or to me or to us.

On Friday, Whitlock took to Twitter to thank everyone for their support.

Whitlock’s teammate Victor Cruz, who has also criticized Colin Kaepernick’s protests, said he was disturbed by the effect Trump has had on some of his supporters.

That’s our problem, that you’re worried about what someone of influence may be talking about and his opinion rather than attacking the actual issue at hand, and that’s innocent minorities dying on a daily basis, dying on a weekly basis, or going through things with their family, vandalism,” Cruz said. “[This is] in the tri-state area. This is right here in our home. This is our back yard and these things are happening.

Sadly, incidents like what happened to the Whitlock’s are not new or rare, especially since last month. According to a report from the Southern Poverty Law Center, within 10 days of Trump being elected, there were 900 documented hate incidents across the U.S. The group also found that African-Americans, immigrants, Jews, Muslims, LGBTQ people, women and other groups were all targeted with this bias.

Can someone remind us how hate will make America great again?

With all the news stories surrounding police brutality in America, it’s not unusual for men of color to feel afraid while interacting with law enforcement.

NFL star Roddy White took to Twitter on Wednesday to describe a traffic stop he said made him concerned for his life. A DeKalb County, Georgia, police officer reportedly pulled White over and put his hand over his holstered gun as he approached his car. The Atlanta Falcons wide receiver said that’s when he grew upset and worried.

According to CNN, White received two traffic tickets and said he wanted to report the officer for his actions, declaring, “It may save the next black man’s life.”

Georgia police say although they are aware of the incident, White has not yet filed a report. If he does, the matter will be investigated by the internal affairs unit.

NFL Star Von Miller Is Being Extorted Over A Sex Tape

Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Sports Awards 2016 - Arrivals

Source: Allen Berezovsky / Getty

When it comes to sex tapes, it’s usually a man blackmailing a woman, saying he’ll release a video to ruin her reputation and career if she doesn’t pay up – i.e what happened to Iggy Azalea.

But this time around, the shoe is on the other foot for NFL star Von Miller. According to TMZ, Miller is trying to block a woman from releasing a sex tape they shot in Cancun and she’s demanding $2.5 million…or else.

Miller filed legal docs in L.A. County Superior Court under the pseudonym “Doe,” but the documents describe him as “one of the most talented people at his craft in the U.S. and the world,” which led multiple sources to confirm that it was indeed Miller. The Denver Broncos star revealed that he met a woman named Elizabeth Ruiz during a trip to Mexico in June 2016 and the two had sex while they were alone indoors.

The woman reportedly recorded the sex session on her cell phone and when Miller reached out to her after the trip and asked her to destroy the recording, she replied, “Gotcha.” The docs also say that the woman gathered a team and tried to sell the video back to the linebacker for $2.5 million after TMZ declined her offer. However, Miller’s team shot down the request, claiming the woman was trying to extort him and is now asking a judge to block her from releasing the tape.

The judge was definitely on Miller’s side Wednesday: a temporary restraining order was issued against the woman.

LeSean McCoy Wants To Bring Cops To Next Game Against Colin Kaepernick

Philadelphia Eagles 2011 Headshots

While plenty of black NFL players have come out in support of Colin Kaepernick‘s national anthem protest,  LeSean McCoy doesn’t appear to be one of them.

In fact McCoy is taking things a bit further by bringing a group of 15 to 20 cops to the Buffalo Bills’ next game. McCoy said that it has yet to be determined whether the officers will come for Sunday’s game against the San Francisco 49ers or the October 30 game against the New England Patriots.

McCoy is doing it to show the police that they are appreciated despite recent events.

“Just an appreciation type of thing,” McCoy said. “Cause they’re taking so much heat right now. There’s things that are happening that’s definitely wrong but I just feel like there’s bad people, there’s bad cops and there’s good cops.”

The plan is currently being set up through his foundation and says it has nothing to do with Kaepernick’s protest.

“I reached out to them,” McCoy said. “Like I said, it has nothing to do with Kap or the situation. I think that he might be doing the right thing because everybody’s opinion, there’s never a wrong opinion. I think he’s right for what he’s saying we need to do something about what’s going on because it is wrong. Then again, there’s good people and there’s bad people. There’s good cops and bad cops. So I’m just trying to show appreciation.”

Two More NFL Players Join Colin Kaepernick In His National Anthem Protest

San Francisco 49ers v San Diego Chargers

Colin Kaepernick now has more people to keep him company while he sits during the national anthem.

Yesterday was the San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks final preseason game, and all eyes were on Kaepernick as he took a seat during the patriotic moment. But people were surprised when teammate Eric Reid and Seattle Seahawk Jeremy Lane sat out as well in response to strained race relations in America, specifically against African-Americans.

The two teams are known to be bitter rivals, but the Lane didn’t hesitate to support Kaepernick.

It’s something I plan to keep on doing until justice is being served,” Lane told reporters after the game.

Seahawk Coach Pete Carroll even sees the importance of the controversial actions:

Our team has been working at it and we’ve been in the process of communicating about a lot of stuff right now. That was an individual thing, but I’m really proud of the progress that we’re making in the conversation and I look forward to continue it with our guys,” he said Thursday night.

With the official NFL season kicking off Thursday, September 8, more players are sure to make their stance clear.

Kendrick Lamar and ScHoolboy Q are incredible artists, and by the looks of this video, the TDE emcees are also pretty amazing athletes. K.Dot and Q stopped by Los Angeles’ newly acquired NFL franchise, the L.A. Rams, to check out their summer training camp.

Kendrick and ScHoolboy hit up UC Irvine to sign some autographs for their NFL friends and fans.

In the 20-second video, ScHoolboy can be seen running a play with Kendrick, who actually makes a completion right before he crosses the sideline. Very impressive, gentlemen.

Johnny Manziel Is Reportedly Done Being Sober Already

Cleveland Browns v Kansas City Chiefs

So, on July 1 Johnny Manziel promised he’d get sober. Fast forward to August 3 and it seems as though the 23-year-old has already fallen off the wagon.

On Friday, the former Browns QB was seen leaving the Nice Guy in L.A., Page Six reports.

A source said, “He was with a group of five and stayed for 25 minutes. He had a ginger shot — a specialty drink with whiskey. And downed a rum and Coke.”

Despite being committed to not drinking, that hasn’t stopped Johnny from partying it up. TMZ recently caught up with him and he claims he still wants to come back to the NFL.

[ione_embed src=https://www.youtube.com/embed/bKFQGZ_uGjM service=youtube width=650 height=360 type=iframe]

When Page Six reached out to Johnny’s attorney for a comment he wasn’t too worried. “If you are running a story on [his drinking], that’s pretty incredible,” he responded. “That’s the dumbest story I think I have ever heard, but you all are certainly welcome to it.”

Even with the drinking rumors floating around, Money Manziel says he wants to play for the Dallas Cowboys. With the guidance of current Dallas QB Tony Romo, who actually isn’t fat, Johnny could potentially fit in well.

Ex-NFL Player Antonio Armstrong, Wife Slain By 16-Year-Old Son At Houston Home

Forty-two-year-old former NFL player Antonio Armstrong and his wife, Dawn, were shot and killed Friday at their home in Houston, Texas, allegedly by their 16-year-old son, reports NBC News.

The teen, whose name has not been released, has been charged as a juvenile and was being questioned Saturday by investigators in connection with the deaths, writes the television news outlet.

Armstrong, 42, “played one season with the Miami Dolphins in 1995 after starring at linebacker for the Texas A&M Aggies. He was named an All-American his senior season with 62 tackles, 9.5 sacks and 18 tackles for a loss,” writes the New York Daily News.

From NBC:

Two of the couple’s other children were in the house when the shootings happened around 2 a.m. local time Friday and neither was hurt, the station reported.

A stunned investigator who called the Armstrongs an “all-American family” said they have not yet determined a motive.

“This was an outstanding family,” Houston police homicide investigator Jimmy Dodson told KPRC. “He was an associate pastor in the area church. He’s a great guy. The mother was apparently a great mother, according to family members.”

The Daily News reports that a GoFundMe page was created to help the family.

Rest in peace, Antonio and Dawn Armstrong.

Video Surfaces Of NFL Player Aldon Smith Allegedly Smoking Weed On Periscope

[ione_embed src=https://www.youtube.com/embed/029YNj-a7_w service=youtube width=650 height=360 type=iframe]

It seems like the NFL and its players are constantly embroiled in some sort of scandal.

And with Deflategate behind us, now a video of Aldon Smith allegedly smoking weed on Periscope has surfaced. Aldon, who plays for the Oakland Raiders, is currently serving a one-year suspension because he got a DUI in August 2015. Aldon was also suspended during the 2014-15 season.

This time is probably the most damning as he’s clearly shown in the video, titled “Fire up Session,” that was posted on the livestream app Periscope. CSN Bay Area has transcribed it in full:

Female: [Expletive], I’m not [expletive] with you.

Male: I don’t give a [expletive]. Ain’t nobody [expletive] with us. We’ve got zero followers. Where is the ashtray at? [To audience] This is what you call a fire up session.

Female: [Expletive], you shouldn’t even be posting that.

Male: (coughing) [Expletive], do you see my face?

Female: No, but what if…

Male: They don’t have my name. This is just a fire up session.

Female: So, if you just put it on there … it’s just doing it? It’s live? That’s hella stupid.

Male: Shut up. You hella stupid. You trying to smoke, fam? Is this the ashtray?

Female: Yeah. You ain’t using it no more, right?

Male: I’m using it.

Female: Oh, that’s a [expletive] (inaudible)? Oh, a (inaudible)?

Male: You’re stupid. You’re tripping. [Expletive], they don’t know it’s me. It’s not like I put “Aldon Smith”…”

Watch the minute-long video up top. At this time the NFL has yet to comment on the situation.

The Must-See Moments From The 2016 ESPYS

The 2016 ESPYS - Backstage And Audience

The 2016 ESPYS was a chance for the best athletes, both collegiate and professional, to celebrate the year’s most-notable achievements.

Everyone from NBA’s top brass, like LeBron James and Steph Curry, to recently retired footballer Peyton Manning were honored for all of their contributions to sports history.

The show was full of funny moments, mostly from the host, WWE’s John Cena, who wasn’t afraid to say anything about Tom Brady‘s infamous Deflategate scandal and Kevin Durant‘s big move to the Golden State Warriors. The harrowing stories of Zaevion Dobson and Craig Sager were also on display for the world to see that the influence of sports goes beyond the field.

Check out some of the best moments from the 2016 ESPYS below:

John Cena’s Opening Monologue

[ione_embed src=https://www.youtube.com/embed/5kpT0Z-mlQo service=youtube width=650 height=360 type=iframe]

Host John held no punches during the opening monologue with a few no-so-subtle jabs at Peyton, LeBron, and newly minted Golden State Warrior Kevin. He said things sports fans had been thinking for the better part of a year.

NFL Player Eric Barry Overcoming Cancer

[ione_embed src=https://www.youtube.com/embed/Y3dnW9iyYYg service=youtube width=650 height=360 type=iframe]

The ESPYS were full of inspiring moments, with stories of athletes overcoming major life issues who still succeeded in the world of sports. One Cancer survivor and NFL player Eric Berry’s story was no exception. In December 2014, the Kansas City Chiefs safety was diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma. Just ten months later, he returned to the lineup and went on to make his fourth Pro Bowl.

The most talked about moment from the awards was LeBron, Carmelo Anthony, Chris Paul, and Dwyane Wade‘s speech. The NBA’s elite player LeBron called on their fellow athletes to use their platforms for more than endorsement benefits and spoke on the issues of Black Lives Matter. Their collective speech was a defining way to open the show.

[ione_embed src=https://www.youtube.com/embed/YUIfyYZvhEU service=youtube width=650 height=360 type=iframe]

Craig is everyone’s favorite sideline sports reporter. And if he isn’t, he should be. Craig has been fighting leukemia for the past few years and he refuses to let that stop him from covering games and wearing flashy suits. When he accepted the Jimmy V Perseverance Award he spoke to the crowd about overcoming any adversity placed before you. Not to mention, the award was presented to him by Vice President Joe Biden.

Zaevion Dobson’s Mom Accepts His Arthur Ashe Courage Award

It was announced earlier this year that Zaevion, the high school athlete who was shot and killed after he helped shield three girls from gunfire during a shooting, would receive the Arthur Ashe Courage Award. Marshawn Lynch Goes Beast Mode And Bodies A Kid At His Football Camp

Marshawn Lynch

Marshawn Lynch‘s still got it.

Lynch hasn’t touched the turf since he last played for the Seattle Seahawks in January, but he recently took the field at a football camp to show that he’s still in shape.

The former Seahawks’ Fam 1st Family Foundation celebrated its 10th annual football camp this weekend for middle and high school students in Oakland, California.

The 30-year-old jumped in to show the youngins how it’s done. During footwork and tackling drills, Lynch took a kid who has the size and strength to be a defensive guard. At first it looked like the campgoer would demolish the former running back. But the nine-year NFL vet showed he still has the power and easily took the kid to the ground.

You can hear the kid’s friends yelling, “Run him over,” but he just can’t get past Lynch. Remember, there’s a reason they call him “Beast Mode.”

Lynch seems to be enjoying retirement, as he’s opened his own store in California, hosts the football camp, and has even found time to showcase his love for cars in hilarious YouTube videos.
